RE:  Sophia Foundation to Recognize the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes   

Fond du Lac, WI: The Sophia Foundation will honor the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes, headquartered in Fond du Lac, with its 2016 Caring Community Award at Whispering Springs, Fond du Lac on Wednesday morning, October 5, 2016 beginning at 7:00 a.m. with breakfast and award presentation to follow.    

Christa Williams, Executive Director of the Sophia Foundation says of the annual award, “We are honored to recognize the Sisters of St. Agnes for their more than one-hundred year commitment to healthcare, education and demonstrated service that has contributed to the overall well-being of not only the Fond du Lac community, but many other communities in the U.S. and abroad.”    Sophia’s Caring Community Award recognizes an individual, organization, or community initiative for efforts made to engage the community, ignite its potential through servant leadership and in the process, create a more caring community.

In addition to the presentation of the award, the event will feature remarks from Tom Thibodeau, Distinguished Professor of Servant Leadership at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI.  Tom is the founder of Place of Grace, a Catholic worker house and free meal site that serves hundreds of needy persons each month.   Mr. Thibodeau, a story teller extraordinaire, will share insights into the heart of servant leadership and its value for leaders at all levels, in all types of organizations and for those seeking to create caring communities.      

The Celebration of Caring Community begins at 7:00 a.m. with breakfast at Whispering Springs Golf Club, 380 Whispering Springs Drive, Fond du Lac, with a program to follow from 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.  Cost to attend is $35 per person.  To register visit the Sophia Foundation website at www.fdlsophiafoundation.com or for questions, call 920-979-7407.
